Drop trio
Drop Trio is a jazz band from Houston , Texas . It consists of Mike Blattel (drums and percussion ), Nino Batista ( bass guitar ) and Ian Varley ( Fender Rhodes piano , Hammond B3 organ ).
The Drop Trio plays down-to-earth, melodically oriented funk jazz with a strong emphasis on the e-piano and the organ. The band releases their albums on Magnatune . The trio, founded in 2002, has predominantly regional significance. It occurs regularly in Texas and partly in neighboring states. In 2007 there were also concerts on the west coast of the USA for the first time.
