Drumtrainer Berlin is a private drum school founded by Dirk Erchinger in 2008 in Berlin-Kreuzberg . In addition to vocational training, Drumtrainer Berlin also includes a drum school for children, Drumtrainer Junior, and the online learning platform Drumtrainer.Online. In 2012, Drumtrainer Berlin was awarded the “ Kultur- und Kreativpiloten Deutschland ” prize by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology .
The music school is located on the site of the former Bock brewery in Kreuzberg.
concept
Active drummers are at the core of the teaching concept. These should convey their experiences from their professional life to students. This consists of further artistic training and imparting the framework conditions for a professional career as a professional musician. In addition to a permanent team of lecturers, international professional drummers are invited as guest lecturers at regular intervals.
The part-time training at the school can be completed in two types of timetables: on the one hand, as a weekly curriculum within twelve months or in block seminars on weekends in 24 months. The course content is identical in both timetables and training is possible alongside work.
In addition to training as a professional musician, courses on music didactics are offered, which continue and convey the educational concept of the children's music school.
Drumtrainer Berlin also operates an online platform for teaching content. Various courses with the teachers of Drumtrainer Berlin are available on drumtrainer.online, as well as courses with international drummers. With the platform, Drumtrainer pursues the concept of blended learning , i.e. the combination of classical music lessons in class or individual lessons supplemented by online tutorials for deepening content. Drumtrainer is one of the first music schools in Europe that implemented this concept independently and supplements its curriculum with its own online content. The in-depth content is suitable for both children's lessons and for students in the professional program.
