Drunken Swallows is a German-language punk - rock - band , resulting in in 2009 Oldenburg in Holstein founded. The band currently consists of Frank Hoffmann (vocals, guitar), Phil Neumann (vocals, bass), Dennis 'DeeDog' Lindner (guitar) and Pit Weidemann (drums).

history

The band was founded in August 2009 by Frank Hoffmann and Pit Weidemann. After a few sessions for two it was decided that this project had a future and so Andre 'Rowi' Rowedder was signed on as second guitarist and Mirco Bebensee on bass. According to their own statement, the English band name goes back to the first rehearsal room and its winged lodgers. "The entire barn was filled with swallow nests and as soon as the first sound sounded, the critters flew around our ears and shit all our equipment."

The debut album Immer geradeaus was followed by further regional appearances and a change of line-up on bass, Michael Gundlach took over this part until 2012. During the recordings for the album Not with Us in the Lübeck Rosenquarz Tonstudio, the band met Phil Neumann for the first time, who was then a studio intern worked there. Half a year later, he joined as the new bass player, replacing Michael Gundlach, who wanted more time for his family. With this line-up, the band worked on the next album Bis ans Ende Our Days , which is the first release under the Hamburg label Rude Records, a sub-label of Remedy Records .

In February 2016, the third studio album was released, Im Sturzflug durch die Republik . For the first time, the recordings for this took place under the direction of Alex Henke in the Monochrom Studio Hamburg. After the album was released, the Drunken Swallows accompanied the South Tyrolean punk rockers Unantastbar on their hand-on-heart tour as main support. After the tour another line-up followed. 'Rowi' expressed his wish to leave the band, the show at Metal Bash Open Air 2016 was his last appearance. Just a month later, Dennis 'DeeDog' Lindner celebrated his debut as the new guitarist at the Baltic Open Air 2016. The band had already met DeeDog as a skilled technician at their own shows. Long-time guitarist and co-founder of the band, Andre 'Rowi' Rohwedder, also left the band in 2016.

The first headlining tour followed in 2017 with the To be continued tour.

In June 2018 the single "Ich tu's für dich" was released. In September of the same year the next studio album "Chaospoesie" followed, with which the 4 band members went on a headlining tour through Germany in October.

In 2019, the 4 swallows went one better and you could see the guys on stages like the Wacken Open Air, at rock in one piece or at rock at Härtsfeldsee. A label change also took place, so the 4 Northern Lights signed with the Cologne label Metalville.

In the same year a live album including a bonus DVD for the 10th anniversary of the band was announced.
