The Drying Point is a headland to the east of Signy Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located 330 m northwest of Mooring Point on the southwest shore of Borge Bay north of the Cemetery Flats .
The headland's name appears for the first time on a map that was created in 1927 after a rough survey of Borge Bay by participants in the British Discovery Investigations . The name probably goes back to whalers, who described the fact that the headland falls dry at low tide .
