Dryom ( Russian Дрём Dryom , German 'sleep' ) is a funeral doom band founded in 2012 .

history

Dryom is an anonymous funeral doom project. No clear information is public about the members. The Russian Bryansk is named as the origin . Releases have appeared through Archaic Sound , Depressive Illusions Records and Solitude Productions .

Webzines such as Metal.de and Doom-Metal.com reviewed publications of the project. The meetings turned out to be inconsistent. While 1 was praised by Dante DuVall for Doom-Metal.com, ven Lattemann's judgment on 2 for Metal.de was bad.

style

The music presented by Dryom is considered a nature-inspired ritual funeral doom. The webzine Doom-Metal.com describes the style as "very simple music," which can be understood as archetypal funeral. The music is based on the massive use of synthesizers , repetitive riffs and "inhuman" deep growling . With this, Dryom is largely based on the original interpreters of the genre. The ritual aspect as well as the relation to nature come into their own in the use of folkloric instruments such as jew's harps , percussion instruments and flutes .

"The vocals growl, the guitar grinds, light piano sounds waft through the sound - all the genre conventions of Funeral Doom, lashed down since THERGOTHON and SKEPTICISM , are solidly served by DRYOM. A relaxed instrumentation, which comes with a jew's harp and subtle flute sounds, ensures a bit of variety. "
