The Dschigiten ( Kyrgyz жигит / jigit ) are a historical military class from the Caucasus .

The Djigites were originally mounted warriors who were characterized by great dexterity in mastering the horse , in endurance, daring and skill during combat.

Under Dschigitowka to the wild later understood riding the Cossacks , at which they fire their guns at full speed, are hidden under the body of the horse, jump down again to jump , etc.

East of the Caucasus were the Kirghiz and other nomads opposed to pay the Russians joined, dzhigit called. They served as orderlies and scouts .
