Dub War was one of four British Metal - band from Newport , South Wales . Founded in 1993, the band offered an innovative mix of metal, punk and ragga . Dub War have also been described as the pioneers of "Ragga Metal".

They released two albums through the metal label Earache Records . The albums are called Pain (1995) and Wrong Side of Beautiful (1996). The band was very short-lived and separated again in 1999. The separation was caused by conflicts with their own label. Singer Benji Webbe then founded Skindred with Jeff Rose and Martin Ford .

style

Mixing different styles of music such as punk , reggae , dub , metal and ragga is defining the style of Dub War . The singing of Benji Webbe is also characteristic, mixing aggressive tones with softer sounds.
