Coordinates: 32 ° 15 ' S , 148 ° 36' O Dubbo City was a Local Government Area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . The area was 3428 km² and last had almost 39,000 inhabitants. In 2016, the newly created Western Plains Regional Council took over.
Dubbo was in the north-western region of the state about 410 km northwest of the metropolis of Sydney . The area included 79 hamlets and hamlets, including Brocklehurst, Dubbo , Eumungerie, Mogriguy, Rawsonville, Toongi, Wongarbon and parts of Geurie and Minore. The seat of the City Council was in Dubbo in the center of the LGA, where over 34,000 inhabitants now live.

The Dubbo City Council had twelve members elected by LGA residents. Dubbo was not divided into districts. The mayor of the council was also recruited from among the councilors.
