The Duisburger Akzente is a cultural festival of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

The multi-week event has been taking place since 1977. The cross-disciplinary program of the festival takes up current cultural and socio-political topics and deals with a different specific topic every year.

Theater , visual arts , literature , dance and scientific symposia comment on the various facets of the respective topic.

In 2010, the Akzente will be actively accompanied by the various Internet applications for the first time. A weblog , Facebook and Twitter provide current information and impressions before the events, live and after.
