history
In 1786 the printer "Hermann am Fischmarkt" published the first address book. This contained commercial and private entries for Hamburg. In 1925 the official telephone directory for the Hamburg Oberpostdirektionsgebiet was published for the first time , known today as the Yellow Pages for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the surrounding regions. In 1935, the Hamburg address book publisher Dumrath & Fassnacht was founded, and in 1993 the Dumrath & Fassnacht KG (GmbH & Co.) group came into being.

The Dumrath & Fassnacht KG (GmbH & Co.) publishing group includes Dumrath & Fassnacht , Birkner specializing in company manuals for the international paper and beverage industry, Telvas , responsible for some of the directories of Das Örtliche in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Trede , ein Full-service agency for national and international telephone book advertising and search engine optimization and marketing, the O.Ö. Telefonbuchverlag , a publisher in Austria for local telephone books, and TSH Telefonbuchverlag , responsible for some of the directories Das Örtliche in Schleswig-Holstein.
The company's products include Yellow Pages , Das Telefonbuch and Das Örtliche , apps as well as databases, information portals and city magazines in Northern Germany.
On July 1, 2016, Dumrath & Fassnacht merged with the Heise Group , Hanover, to form the new holding company Heise & Dumrath Medien GmbH & Co. KG . Ansgar Heise is the managing director of the Hanover-based holding.
