Dunthorne is a small impact crater on the front of the moon , on the edge of the Palus Epidemiarum , east of Vitello crater and southwest of Campanus . The bowl-shaped crater shows hardly any traces of erosion.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British astronomer Richard Dunthorne .
