Duplo (chocolate bar)
Duplo (spelling: duplo ) is a chocolate bar from the Italian company Ferrero . It was launched in Germany in 1964. The name is of Latin origin ( duplex or duplus means "double") and is protected as a registered trademark .

One piece of the chocolate bar weighs 18.2 grams, is 11.25 cm long, 2.2 cm wide and consists of 83.9 percent sugar and fat.

Product variants
Since April 2007 the chocolate bar has also been available in Germany in a dark chocolate version, in which the coating consists of whole milk chocolate with 73.5 percent dark chocolate containing cocoa . A variant with dark chocolate and coconut was introduced in 2009, one with almond in 2010 and Duplo White in 2013 . Duplo Caramel has also been available since 2016 . In 2018 a limited campaign with milk cream and speculoos was introduced.
In Italy , France , Greece and the Czech Republic , Ferrero also offers a chocolate bar of the same name, but which differs from the product offered in Germany. So it contains white chocolate. In Germany this is meanwhile offered under the name "Duplo Chocnut".

In commercials , the chocolate bar is ironically related to a praline .
The manufacturer publishes a series of stickers with players from the German national team for major sporting events, such as soccer world and European championships . The individual images can also be found in other products from the manufacturer.
In the newer commercials , a figure is made from the packaging of a chocolate bar, similar to origami . This can be remodeled using instructions that the manufacturer publishes on the Internet.
