The Dupnitsa Point (English; Bulgarian нос Дупница nos Dubniza ) is an icy headland on the southeast coast of Smith Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 8.4 km northeast of Cape James and separates the entrances to the south-south-east lying Hisarya Cove and Brashlyan Cove in the north-northeast.
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2008. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in the same year after the city of Dupnitsa in southwestern Bulgaria .
