Tetsuya Akikawa ( Jap. 明川哲也 , Akikawa Tetsuya * 17th June 1962 in Tokyo ), formerly Durian Sukegawa ( ドリアン助川 , Dorian Sukegawa ), actually Tetsuya Sukegawa ( 助川哲也 , Sukegawa Tetsuya ) is a Japanese author , poet and musicians.

Life

Sukegawa attended Waseda University in his hometown , where he studied philosophy . He is also known in Japan as an actor, punk musician, and radio and television presenter .

Sukegawa's bestseller Cherry Blossoms and Red Beans was filmed in 2015 by Japanese director Naomi Kawase with the title An . The film was the opening film in the Un Certain Regard category of the Cannes Film Festival that same year . The theatrical release in Germany was later that year. The novel was published in German translation in 2016.
