The Durrance Inlet is an ice-covered bay at the Princess Martha Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Lands . It is located 16 km north of the Veststraumen Glacier . The bay is 8 km wide, 19 km long and opens onto the Riiser-Larsen Ice Shelf .
Aerial photos were taken during a reconnaissance flight of the United States Navy's VXE-6 squadron on November 5, 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the bay in 1970 after Frank McDonald Durrance Jr., the pilot of this reconnaissance flight.
