Durstlöscher is a dance project that consists of Melbeatz and Alex Prince .

history

In 2011 Melbeatz, who had previously made a name for herself primarily as a hip-hop producer, announced the “Thirst Quencher” project. Especially because of her position as "house producer" for Kool Savas , she felt increasingly limited. In this way she began to produce faster beats, especially since her interest in electronic music had been around for a long time. According to her own statements, she was initially inhibited by the fear that her reputation in the hip-hop scene could suffer as a result of this change in style. In the meantime, she got to know the singer Alex Prince, who appeared in the late 1990s as an artist for Booya Music around the rapper Nana .

In 2012 the first thirst quencher single "Tanz bis zu Ende" was released, followed by "Druck im Club" and the album "Feierbiester".

style

Thirst quenchers call their style "NDE" (New German Electro). Melbeatz compared the style of the project with Kraftwerk and stated that the beats on this project are usually at least 130 beats per minute . The vocals are kept minimalistic and are contributed by Alex Prince. Both project members contribute to the music and the lyrics. The two musicians present themselves in colorful, sometimes unusual outfits as part of their project.
