Dursun Çiçek (* 25. January 1960 in Umurca , Reşadiye , Province Tokat ) is a Marine - colonel in the Turkish army .

Life

Dursun Çiçek graduated from Yıldızeli Middle School . In 1979 he entered the Military Academy, which he finished in 1980. Çiçek was a member of the Navy and worked in Şırnak in the 1990s and in Albania from 1997 to 1999. He also studied at Çukurova University , where he obtained his doctorate in 2005.

The Turkish government and six other military officials accused him of preparing for a coup . This was based on a plan called the Action Plan to Combat Reactionary Forces which became publicly known in 2009 and which he allegedly participated in. He was arrested twice but released each time. He himself denies the allegations. He was retired in 2011.

In the parliamentary elections in Turkey on June 7, 2015, he was elected as a member of the CHP .
