Reşadiye is a city and capital of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the Turkish province of Tokat . The city is located about 70 kilometers east of the provincial capital Tokat . The place was called İskefsir until 1906 and, according to the city seal, was raised as Reşadiye in 1907 to the status of a municipality ( Belediye ).
The district is located in the east of the province and borders on the Almus district in the south, the Niksar and Başçiftlik districts in the west and the Ordu and Sivas provinces in the north and east . The city is on the European route 80 (trunk road D100), which crosses Turkey from Istanbul to the Iranian border at Doğubeyazıt . In Reşadiye, a road branches off from it north to Aybastı in Ordu Province. In the south, the Yeşilırmak flows through the district, roughly parallel to it, along the European route, the Kelkit Çayı . In the northwest is the Zimav Gölü lake . The Köse Dağları mountain range stretches from west to east between the two rivers .
The district is the fourth largest in the province and, in addition to the district town (2018: 22.17% of the district's population), consists of five other municipalities (Belediye):

- Baydarlı (2,940 pop.)
The district also includes 72 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 174 residents. The scale of the population ranges from 634 ( Büşürüm ) to 21 ( Yenituraç ), 25 villages have more than 174 (= average) inhabitants. The population density (37.4 inh. Per km²) is below that of the province (61.0), the urban population is 69.58 percent. The circle was formed in 1906.
