Dwang is the increasingly rare language of the Dwang , with around 8,200 (2003 GILLBT ) speakers in Ghana , including 1,600 Bekye, 3,300 Kenya and 3,300 Wiase.
Dwang can be found south of the Volta reservoir and the distribution area of Chumburung , east of the town of Atebubu.
Alternative names are Dwan and Nchumunu. Bekye, Kenyen and Wiase are called dialects.
Dwang approaches Kplang . There is 75% agreement with Chumburung. Cracks are well understood because of strong similarities.
