Two symmetrically arranged dydoes

A dydoe is a piercing in the male genital area. It is pricked through the edge of the glans .

history

The piercing is mainly carried out on circumcised men. Piercing pioneer Doug Malloy said it was invented by a group of Jewish students called the Cyprian Society . The name "Dydoe" comes from Malloy himself.

The original intention was to promote the sensitivity of the less sensitive glans in the circumcised man. However, it is now also worn for aesthetic reasons.

Implementation and healing

The healing process can take up to 6 months. A tight foreskin can lead to complications. Regular cleaning is essential during healing. Sexual intercourse should be avoided. When the puncture canal is infected, scars usually form, which in turn can lead to further desensitization of the glans.

The piercing can also be used with an existing foreskin, but then has an increased risk of it growing out and is sometimes uncomfortable to wear.

Jewellery

Small curved barbells are best suited for use . A normal barbell is also possible, rings are less suitable at this point due to the mechanical stress.

variants

An apadoye is a piercing in which a ring is worn through an apadravya and one or two dydoes. It usually runs through two pair of dydoe piercings.
