Dyestads mosse

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dyestads mosse is a bog on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic Sea .

The moor is located in the Mittlandskogen in the middle of the island, west of the village of Dyestad . It is one of several wetlands to a system which Moore from the western Brostorpmyren to lie in the north Björkerumsmossen comprises. There are silting tendencies in the entire area . After grazing on the area bordering the moors has ended, the forest moves closer to the wetlands and streams. However, Dyestads mosse still has open water areas. The water drains to the north.

A fence was built around the Dyestads mosse and grazing was resumed to prevent silting.

In addition to stiff sedge , white water lily and salt pond rush should be mentioned. Common sneaks and cranes can be observed.
