Dyment Island is a small island off the Walgreen Coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It is located 8 km southwest of the McKinzie Islands in the central section of Cranton Bay .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using their own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1968 after Donald I. Dyment (1936-2005), cook at Byrd Station in 1967.
