Dynamic meditation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dynamic Meditation is one of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (now Osho developed) active meditation .

character

Like Kundalini meditation and Nataraj meditation, dynamic meditation is one of the active meditation techniques in which physical activity plays a central role. For “western” people, a meditative attitude is often difficult to achieve because they are very outside, experience and action-oriented. The meditation technique is supposed to lead to an intense catharsis through movement and rapid, deepened breathing (see also Holotropic breathing ) . Screaming, crying, laughing and outbursts of anger are manifestations of this catharsis. It represents a liberation, after which a further physical charge takes place through intense movement. The goal is inner peace and quiet.

procedure

Dynamic meditation consists of several phases of roughly the same length and lasts about an hour. It is performed on an empty stomach. The phases are called

  • Panting
  • catharsis
  • Jump
  • stop
  • To dance

and are physically demanding. Only the fourth phase ( stop ), which represents a quiet pause, has the effect of a classic meditation on outsiders. An exchange of experiences can then take place.

Chaitanya Hari (civil Georg Deuter ) composed music for it.

effect

The meditation form should lead to increased blood flow, increased attention (awareness) and increased energy and cause therapeutic effects through the catharsis.

distribution

Dynamic meditation is widespread in Europe, far beyond the Osho movement and the original spiritual background. It has become an integral part of psychosomatic clinics and psycho-groups. It is also used by therapists to accompany psychotherapy.
