history

The company was founded in Denmark in 1977 by Wilfried Ehrenholz, Gerhard Richter and Ejvind Skaaning. The company's longstanding mission has been known as 'Authentic Fidelity'. This should be a differentiation to the quality standards of " high fidelity ", as the sound engineers at Dynaudio wanted to set higher demands on sound quality than were defined in the Hi-Fi DIN 45500 at the time.

Since 1968 there have been research projects by Danish engineers in the loudspeaker sector, from the results of which the company emerged.

Four years after Dynaudio was founded, Dynaudio's own membrane material, magnesium silicate polymer material, was developed by in-house engineers .

Many technical advances have been developed in collaboration with the universities in Aalborg and Aarhus .

In 1983 the loudspeaker Consequence was launched. What was particularly important at the moment was the compound construction with an internal and external woofer, which can produce deeper bass than a single woofer.

Dynaudio became famous in the hi-fi world in 1989 with the publication of the advertising brochure “The Book of Truth” and the advertising slogan “Danes don't lie”.

In 1993 Dynaudio Acoustics was founded together with studio designer Andy Munro, a brand in the professional sector.

In 1996 Dynaudio entered into a cooperation with Volvo .

One year later the compact loudspeaker Contour 1.3 SE appeared , which is currently characterized by a newly developed chassis and an elaborate crossover construction.

The company's flagship loudspeaker, Evidence Master , was launched in 1999.

The year 2002 was very eventful: For the 25th anniversary, the Special Twenty-Five model was released, signed by CEO Wilfried Ehrenholz. A few years later, editor-in-chief Wilfried Kress presented it with the Editors Choice Award as one of the best test devices of 2011 in the magazine hifi & records. The Evidence Temptation loudspeaker was also honored for its DDC ( Dynaudio Directivity Control ) technology with the Innovation Prize Innovations 2002 in the Design + Engineering Showcase category from the organizers of the world's largest Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. This development is characterized by a vertically symmetrical arrangement of duplicate chassis and a specially designed crossover. Room acoustic problems should be reduced to a minimum by DDC.

This was followed by the Confidence model series, whose C2 and C5 floorstanding loudspeakers also feature DDC technology.

The cooperation with Volkswagen began in 2002 and continues to this day.

In 2005, the Focus loudspeaker series with the further developed Esotec + chassis generation was presented. In 2007, multimedia products came onto the market for the first time: high-end desktop loudspeakers MC15 and subwoofer Sub 250 MC.

For the 30th anniversary in 2007, the Sapphire model came onto the market. It was limited to 1000 pairs, with the last pair being auctioned off for the benefit of Doctors Without Borders .

In 2008, the Excite loudspeaker series was launched.

Trade fair exhibition

The Xeo speaker series , the company's first wireless speakers, appeared on the market in 2012. These were awarded the EISA Award 2012-2013 as Best Product in the European Wireless segment.

In spring 2013 the new Excite loudspeaker was presented.

In October 2014, the Chinese company Goertek Inc. took over the majority of the company, 83 percent. The remaining shares are held by the founder and Vice Director of the Board of Directors, Wilfried Ehrenholz.

To mark the company's 40th anniversary in 2017, Dynaudio launched the 2-way compact speaker Special Forty .

In 2018 a new generation of the Confidence High End series was presented; she uses u. a. a further developed DDC technology.
