Dyoxen was a Canadian thrash metal band from Montreal that was formed in 1985 and split up in 1991.
history
The band was formed in 1985 by singer and guitarist Michael Scott Sanders. A short time later, drummer Derek Rothwell and bassist Steve Sinclair joined them. In 1987 and 1989, the band released a demo with Apocalyptic Dreams and A Foot from the Edge . Then bassist Sinclair left the band and was replaced by Andy Morton. Alistair Hay joined the cast as an additional guitarist. As a result, the band signed a contract with Cargo Records .
The band recorded their debut album First Among Equals . After the recordings, Hay and Morton left the band. Sinclair returned to the line-up as bass player, and Brett Stacey joined the group as the new guitarist. After the album was released, two tours of Canada followed, with the group playing as the opening act for groups like Annihilator , Anvil , Dirty Rotten Imbeciles , Zoetrope , Razor and Sacrifice . The band then separated from Cargo Records, which led to the breakup in late 1991.
style
The band played classic Thrash Metal, with the vocals being comparable to that of Joey Belladonna .
