North German football championship 1920/21
The North German soccer championship 1920/21 was the 15th competition organized by the North German Soccer Association . Hamburger SV was the winner for the first time . In the German championship , Hamburg reached the quarter-finals.
For the second time after 1913/14 the association tried to establish a regional "North German League", this time in two seasons (north and south) with ten teams each. The two group winners determined the north champion in the two legs. In this two-pronged form, the championship was held only this time. There was no relegation.

In the Northern District League, clubs from the districts of Hamburg-Altona, Kiel and Northern Hanover played (Schleswig, Lübeck, Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania did not have a league club).

Southern District League
Clubs from the districts of Bremen, Hanover and Braunschweig played in the southern district league (Northern Harz, Unterweser and Oldenburg did not have a league club). The Emsland and the greater Osnabrück and Göttingen areas belonged to the West German Gaming Association at that time and until 1933 .
