The e-volution electromobility concepts GmbH is a vehicle manufacturer from Stainz (Austria), the two-seater electric vehicle Jetflyer produces and sells.
structure
In addition to a sales office in Berlin, the company also has a subsidiary in Abu Dhabi .
Jet flyer
The Jetflyer was developed by i-Tec Styria and is distributed internationally by e-volution , whereby sales initially concentrated on the United Arab Emirates , where the Dubai police have three Jetflyers in use for traffic monitoring, and also in Abu Dhabi. 500 jet flyers are said to have already been ordered by the Dubai police.
Österreichische Post AG recognized the potential of the vehicle and after lengthy tests already has 60 jet flyers in the daily delivery service. The current Cargo-Jetflyer variant was developed in close cooperation with the Post. The single-seater version with box bodies can carry over 300 kg payload. The vehicle is produced in Germany and consists of 95% components that are manufactured in Austria and Germany.
drive
The Jetflyer in the current L6E variant has two wheel hub motors with a total output of 4 kW, which drive the two wheels of the rear axle. The maximum torque is 160 Nm. The maximum speed is 50 to 80 km / h.
A much stronger L7E version is already being tested and will be added to the model range in mid-2018.
Chassis and body
The dimensions are very compact at 1800 mm × 1180 mm × 970 mm. The weight of the vehicle is around 200 kg. The chassis is considered to be very resilient and extremely stable. The low center of gravity contributes significantly to the fact that the vehicle does not knock over. With single wheel hub motors instead of an axle with a rigid through drive (which is used on almost all quads), the cornering is good.
Energy storage
The accumulator is based on the LiFePO technology. With a consumption of around 3 kWh / 100 km, the Jetflyer has a range of 130 km. The charging time of the battery is 1.5 hours. Exchangeable Li-Ion batteries are already being tested and, together with a new, more powerful motor control, will replace the current E-Drive from the beginning of 2018.
criticism
The price should be around 9,500 euros and is therefore relatively high compared to a quad with a combustion engine.
