history

e107 is based on source code that was originally used on LiteStep websites. Jalist, who was responsible for the development of this website, reused some of the source code from litestep.net and ls2k.org and created a more modular system. This system could then serve as a code base for others to create their own community-run websites.

The source code collection was maintained exclusively by Jalist up to version 0.612, when a development team was formed. The development team is now developing, maintaining and creating build releases for the e107 system.

In 2006 and 2007 e107 was nominated by the public as one of the five finalists in the "Packt Open Source Content Management System Award".
