The Osório was a prototype of a battle tank developed in Brazil by the Engesa company , but it was not mass-produced. Two variants were planned - the EE-T1 Osório with a British 105 mm cannon and the EE-T2 Osório with a cannon of 120 mm caliber .

history

In the mid-1980s, the Brazilian company Engesa decided to build a new battle tank, which was mainly to be exported. The company invested about $ 100 million in developing the Osório . The design was very modern and sophisticated and required major investments in manufacturing technology.

However, no buyer could be found for this system. This bad investment could engesa no longer compensate, and went in the early 1990s in bankruptcy . Since Avibrás, the country's other major arms company, also went bankrupt, this was practically the end of the Brazilian arms industry.
