EF83

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A NOS EF83 from Valvo - the electrode system is shielded with a grid.

The electron tube EF83 as the EF86 a small Sign Alps death with low noise and with a Noval socket, but in contrast to this, due to the special design of their control grid (unequal spacing of the grid wires) a grid voltage-dependent slope has, and thus a control characteristic ( remote cutoff pentode ). This enables the slope and thus the gain to be changed via a variable preload .

It appeared on the tube market in 1956, two years after the launch of the EF86, and like this one was mainly designed for high-quality AF applications. In the upper classes of the tape recorder series of the leading manufacturers from the middle of the 20th century, the tube was the active standard component for automatic voice control .

P series

The parallel type PF83 with 0.3 A series heating is interchangeable with the EF83 apart from the different heating data and the missing bifilar design of the filament. This also enables the two rows to be easily distinguished visually.
