The EHV Wesel was an ice hockey club from Wesel .

history

The EHV Wesel was founded in 1982. This first played in the district league, before the club reached the Regionalliga West in 1986 after two ascents in a row . In the 1987/88 season the Weseler were superior champions of the Regionalliga West with 54: 2 points and were promoted to the Oberliga Nord . There the team was able to establish itself quickly thanks to the goal scorer Jeff Job and Henri Marcoux and in the 1989/90 season, thanks to the renunciation of the REV Bremerhaven, they were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . At the end of the season, the club withdrew its team for financial reasons and the EHV Wesel was dissolved.

Successor clubs

The EHC Wesel was founded in 1990 as the successor association. From 2001 this was nicknamed Eiswiesel , with the team taking on as Pirates between 2003 and 2005 . The new club started in 1991 in the NRW League and mostly shuttled between the NRW League and the State League. Financial problems led to the dissolution in 2009. With the EHV Wesel 2009 a new club was founded, which had to stop playing in January 2010 for financial reasons and was also dissolved.
