Henri "Magic" Marcoux (born December 5, 1965 in Saint-Jérôme , Québec ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who played for the EV Landshut and the Frankfurt Lions in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

The 1.73 m tall winger began his professional career with the Verdun Junior Canadiens in the Canadian top junior league QMJHL , but then moved undrafted to EHC Essen-West in the third-class German ice hockey league . Via the league rivals Dinslaken Kobras and EHC Wesel , the left-handed shooter finally got to Heilbronn EC in 1990 , where he quickly rose to become a leading player and crowd favorite with the nickname "Magic".

After three successful years in Heilbronn, the Canadian signed a contract with the Bundesliga club EV Landshut for the 1993/94 season , with whom he also competed in the newly founded professional class DEL the following year . After a one-year engagement with the Frankfurt Lions , Marcoux finally moved back to the second division in 1998 , where he played for the Essenes, now renamed "Mosquitos", and for his other former club Heilbronner EC in the following two years. After a two-year stay in the Oberliga, Marcoux returned to the second Bundesliga, where he was on the ice for one season for EV Duisburg . Since then, the Canadian has played for various teams in lower-class German leagues.
