The ELX Futures, LP is a fully electronic alternative trading system for financial derivatives and in particular US government bonds that since July 10 2009, trading on different first four US government bonds offer.

ELX Futures is a consortium made up of Bank of America , Barclays , BGC Partners , Breakwater , Citigroup , Credit Suisse , Deutsche Bank , GETCO , Goldman Sachs , JPMorgan , Merrill Lynch , PEAK6 and the Royal Bank of Scotland . With its product offering, ELX Futures is in direct competition with the Chicago Board of Trade , which is part of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange . At the start in July 2009, ELC Futures announced that it would not charge any trading fees until August 2, 2009. In addition, MF Global and Newedge , two of the world's largest brokers for futures, announced their support for the newly established futures exchange.
