ENANA

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enana ( port. : Empresa Nacional de Exploração de Aeroportos e Navegação Aérea EP to German: National Society for the operation of airports and the air traffic control) is a public company that the civil aviation in the southwest African country of Angola controlled and the Angolan airports operates.

history

The predecessor of ENANA was created on May 11, 1954 by the Portuguese colonial administration under the name Serviço de Aeronáutica Civil (SAC), as a result of increasing air traffic in what was then the Portuguese colony of Angola.

After Angola's independence in 1975, the SAC became the Direcção Nacional da Aviação Civil (in German: National Directorate of Civil Aviation). ENANA was re-established on February 13, 1980 on the basis of Decree No. 14 of the Ministry of Transport, in contrast to the authority responsible until then, which remains a department of the Ministry, while ENANA has since been an independent state-owned company under the Ministry of Transport.

Since 2008 ENANA has been intensifying the restoration and modernization of the Angolan airports, which were often damaged in the Angolan civil war (1975 to 2002). The largest project is the new Angola International Airport , which will later relieve the current capital city airport Aeroporto Internacional Quatro de Fevereiro and develop into a regional hub.

  • Economic management of the airports ( Exploração de Aeroportos ): On behalf of the state, ENANA manages the Angolan airports, all of which are state-owned. ENANA is also responsible for the economic management of the airports.
  • Training ( Centro Aeronáutico de Instrução , CAI): The ENANA CAI department carries out the education and training of technical personnel according to ICAO standards, in its own facilities and in cooperation with private institutions. The CAI is now aiming for membership in TRAINAIR and ISO certification .
