BMW R 10 (1947)
The BMW R 10 motorcycle was a motorcycle project pursued by BMW from 1947 to 1948 with a two-stroke boxer engine and cardan drive .
history
The first draft of 1947 in the form of a wooden model made even a motor bike with low through-cab without rear suspension, but even with the planned two-stroke boxer engine. In later sketches the upper frame tube was finally being executed and Duplex frame received a Geradewegfederung for the rear wheel as the pre-war BMW motorcycles. The drivable prototypes from the Munich plant were also presented in this variant.
In the spring of 1948, BMW stopped the project - the Allied military government had approved motorcycle production up to 250 cm³ and BMW continued to pursue the project of the BMW R 24 , which was developed in parallel and which was then presented on March 11, 1948 at the 18th International Automobile et Moto Cycle was presented in Geneva.
