Brief description Eurocode 0
Latest edition 2002

The Eurocode 0 (often abbreviated to EC 0 ) is the name of the European standard EN 1990 with the title Fundamentals of Structural Planning and a fundamental part of the series of Eurocodes .

EN 1990, which has been adopted as a national standard by the member states of the European Committee for Standardization ( CEN ), defines the basis for the use of the Eurocodes in construction and must therefore always be used when applying the other standards in the Eurocode series. Conversely, however, Eurocode 0 can be used on its own if building materials are to be used in structural planning and actions that are not regulated in the Eurocodes are to be applied.

The current German version of the standard is DIN EN 1990 with the corresponding national annex from December 2010 and Amendment A1 of the national annex from August 2012. The current Austrian version is ÖNORM EN 1990, last updated in March 2013.
