Étoile Sportive Bully-les-Mines is a French football club from Bully-les-Mines in northern France.

history

ES Bully was founded in 1920. In the following years, the club appeared nationally as a participant in the Coupe de France . Regularly placed in the front of amateur football in the 1930s and early 1940s, the team was integrated into the French war championship in the summer of 1941. In the so-called "Zone Interdite" group she played against RC Lens , Olympique lillois and US Valenciennes-Anzin, among others . After a redistribution of the championship at the end of the season, the club moved back into the lower class league area, but reached the sixteenth finals of the Coupe de France in 1949/50.

After the Second World War, ES Bully was a founding member of the Championnat de France Amateur as the highest amateur league, in which the team was represented until the mid-1950s despite being relegated in the meantime. After relegation in 1954, the club said goodbye to higher-class football and ekes out an existence in the middle French amateur area. In 2006 Pascal Peltier took over as coach in the club. In the 2011/12 season, the first ESB team will take part in the Promotion d'Honneur of the Ligue du Nord-Pas de Calais de football ; the PH corresponds to the 10th highest league level in French football .

With André Strappe , Jules Bigot , Robert Défossé , René Dereuddre , François Bourbotte and Richard Krawczyk there are some later professional players who celebrated their career start at ES Bully and later came to national and international honors.
