ES File Explorer (in English ES File Explorer ) is an adware file manager for Android from EStrongs Inc.
Versions and updates
The ES File Explorer is available for the mobile operating system Android. The current main version number is 3. With the update from version 2 to version 3, not only the logo of the app but also the design, functionality and stability of the program changed. In addition, one has gesture control integrated. The localization of the app into German suffered from the update , as the translations in particular were partially incorrect or misleading. However, this is still being improved with the help of smaller version jumps.

criticism
In April 2019, it became known that some applications from DO Global - including the manufacturer of ES File Explorer - are running processes in the background to generate clicks on advertising banners. In this way, the Chinese developer is using his applications to get money with clicks - obviously without the permission or knowledge of the users. Google then removed the application from your Play Store .
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in India blocked ES File Explorer and 58 other apps in June 2020. The reason it cited was the unauthorized transfer of data to China, which posed a threat to the country's sovereignty , data protection and national security.
Dissemination / review
ES File Explorer is a widely used file manager for Android. In 2013 it was downloaded over 10,000,000 times and rated over 320,000 times. In the Google Play Store , the ES File Explorer received an overall rating of 4.7 (as of August 31, 2013) .
The app was removed from the Google Play Store in spring 2019 due to critical security vulnerabilities.
