The eSport Association Austria (esvö) was founded with the aim of promoting e-sports in Austria . The association tries to support everyone who wants to get actively involved in e-sports. Be it with help in legal questions or with the offer to be able to borrow technical equipment, which is required for the organization of LAN parties or other events, for example . Furthermore, esvö looks after all national teams that take part in the European Nations Championship (ENC) .

history

At the end of 2007 the eSport Association Austria entered the public stage. A one-year planning phase with experts preceded the foundation in order to create a functional, democratic and flexible association structure.

The first success of an official sponsorship by the Federal Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth was not long in coming and so it was quickly possible for the young association to set active accents together with the individual boards. However, the year 2008 was primarily dominated by the structuring and positioning of the association. The executive board and all boards stand together behind the defined goals in order to give eSport a strong voice in Austria but also in Europe.

In 2008 esvö became a founding member of the International eSport Federation , which has its headquarters in South Korea .

Right from the start, the association was properly represented in every Austrian federal state by a member association from the eSport sector. This proper representation is currently (as of July 2015) in no Austrian federal state outside of Vienna. The association headquarters is located in Vienna , in the eSport bar , AREA 52 . At the moment, all officials of the eSport Association work on a voluntary basis without financial compensation.
