EU-Russia Forum

The EU-Russia Forum is a platform for dialogue and political interaction between the European Union and Russia . It is supported by the EU Commission , the Russian Presidential Administration and European research institutions. The forum is organized by the German Society for Foreign Policy eV (DGAP for short) .

history

Since the opening event of the EU-Russia Forum in Berlin in January 2000, the event has taken place once or twice a year at different locations in Europe . As part of the events, experts from politics, business, science and society will discuss the political and economic interplay between the EU countries and Russia. It deals with questions of foreign, security and energy policy as well as political, economic and cultural background issues. The individual events aim at a fundamental understanding in view of the existing forms of cooperation and mutual dependence between the EU and Russia.

Among the well-known discussion participants so far were u. a. Javier Solana ( High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union ), Benita Ferrero-Waldner (Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy in the European Commission), Sergei Karaganov (Chairman of the Russian Council for Foreign and Defense Policy), Sergei Jastrschembski (Former advisor to the President of the Russian Federation), Gernot Erler (Minister of State in the Foreign Office) and Volker Rühe (Former Federal Minister of Defense).
