EVI Hildesheim was especially in the women's section of one of the most successful German clubs for swimming . It broke up in October 2008.

The EVI Hildesheim association was formed in 1994 through the merger of the swimming departments of six Hildesheim sports clubs. In the course of time, however, two departments left, so that in the end the swimming departments of the following four clubs were still part of the team:

The name EVI came from the main sponsor, EVI Energieversorgung Hildesheim . Analogous to clubs like Bayer 04 Leverkusen , EVI Hildesheim could also be described as a company team. In the club only swimming was practiced.

The women's team was one of the most successful teams in the 1st Bundesliga swimming . In 2004 the German championship was achieved, in 2005 the runner-up championship. The men's team started in the 2nd Bundesliga North. The training was held in the Hildesheim water paradise. The most famous swimmers in Hildesheim were Sara Harstick and Katharina Schiller , who meanwhile joined VfV Hildesheim. The Masters division also had a strong team that had produced several European Masters champions.

Since the majority of the members of the association were minors, there was the special feature of voting rights at the meetings that all members were entitled to vote. Thus, primary school students also voted on an equal footing.

At the beginning of the 2008/09 season, an extraordinary meeting resolved to dissolve the starting community on October 15, 2008. TuS Grün-Weiß Himmelsthür and PSV Hildesheim then ended their cooperation and are now training their swimmers independently. The remaining swimmers have either changed their starting right to Eintracht and are now training in the new performance area under their old coaches or have switched to VFV Hildesheim.
