The M series multiple units were electric multiple units of the Estonian State Railways Eesti Vabariigi Raudtee (EVR) with the Bo'Bo ' wheel arrangement.

history

The railcars of the M series were, along with the steam locomotives of the Sk , Mtk , Kk and Kk2 series, one of the few new locomotives procured by EVR during Estonia's first independence.

Estonia was the first country in the Baltic States to put electric multiple units into service. From 1924, the M series railcars ran on the suburban line from Tallinn via Nõmme to Pääsküla , which had been electrified by Eesti Vabariigi Raudtee with 1500 volts DC voltage and partially expanded to double-track. The powerful motor vehicles were able to tow several sidecars , so that enough seats were available for travelers even during rush hour. The trains came to Russia from 1941 and did not return.
