Pääsküla is a district ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . It is located in the Nõmme district .

The city district has 9,571 inhabitants (as of May 1, 2010). Its area is 5.95 square kilometers. The Pääsküla River ( Pääsküla jõgi ) flows through the district . In the Pääskülas area there is also the nine square kilometer Pääsküla moor ( Pääsküla raba ).

The village Pääsküla (German Paeskülla ) was first mentioned in 1241 in the Liber Census Daniæ . In the 16th century it was owned by the Teutonic Order .

Between 1912 and 1917, a garden city called "Petershof" ( Estonian Peetri aedlinn ) was built near the village . It was united in April 1923 with the city of Nõmme (German Nömme ). In 1940, like all of Nõmme, it was incorporated into the city of Tallinn.
