Kristiine is a district of the Estonian capital Tallinn .

Kristiine is located about 3.5 kilometers southwest of central Tallinn and borders the districts of Põhja-Tallinn , Kesklinn , Nõmme , Mustamäe and Haabersti . The population is 29,228 (as of December 31, 2011). According to the 2011 census, the ethnic composition of the population is based on the mother tongue criterion: 71.4% with Estonian mother tongue, 26.5% with Russian mother tongue.
Kristiine is divided into three districts ( Estonian asumid ): Järve , Tondi and Lilleküla . Then there are the industrial areas of Marja, Liimi and Laki.
Until 1920 the area was called Kristiinental , named after the Swedish Queen Christina (1626–1689). The Kristiine district was only combined as an administrative unit in 1993. It's a relatively green part of Tallinn. Single-family houses shape the overall picture. Kristiine is known for its four historical parks: Löwenruh-Park, Dunten-Park, Cederhilm-Park and Charlottental-Park.
