Katleri is a district ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . It is located in the Lasnamäe district (German "Laaksberg").

description

The city district has 5,045 inhabitants (as of 2008).

Katleri is located on the northern edge of the limestone plateau Lasnamäe with its sparse vegetation. In the south of Katleri lies the small Tondi raba bog .

The architecture of Katleri is dominated by desolate, nine-story prefabricated high-rise buildings in the Soviet style. They were built in the 1970s and 1980s. The aim of the Soviet city planners was - as in all of Lasnamäe - the massive settlement of Russian-speaking residents from other parts of the Soviet Union .
