South Alinn (in German about "heart of the city") is a district ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . It is located in the Kesklinn district ("inner city"), right in the center of Tallinn.

South Alinn has 132 inhabitants (as of May 1st, 2010).

In South Alinn there are important facilities of the Estonian capital, including the Estonia National Opera , the Eesti Draamateater (formerly "German Theater"), the Estonian Central Bank Eesti Pank , the Sokos Hotel Viru , the modern Viru Keskus shopping center and the English High School ( Tallinna Inglise Kolledž ).

The Sakala training and convention center, completed in 1985, was demolished in 2007. The Solaris shopping center was built in its place and opened its doors in October 2009. There is also a concert hall and the Artis cultural cinema .
