Laiaküla is a municipality ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . The district is located in the Pirita district .

Laiaküla (literally "broad village") is sparsely populated. The city district today has 134 inhabitants (as of May 1, 2010). It is located on the eastern city limits of Tallinn.

The former village of Laiaküla was located between the villages of Lepiku and Iru. According to statistics from June 1920, only three families lived in Laikaüla. In 1930 their number had grown to eight farms. A village center between the widely scattered properties did not exist. Only after the incorporation into the city of Tallinn was the area expanded with further residential houses.

The area of ​​the district also includes parts of the Pärnamäe cemetery and the Tallinn Botanical Gardens .
