Thom Fitzgerald (born July 8, 1968 in New Rochelle , New York ) is an American film director .

Life

Fitzgerald attended school in Bergenfield , New Jersey , where he graduated from Bergenfield High School . Then Fitzgerald studied at the Cooper Union in Manhattan . As an exchange student he went to Canada to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design . He then moved to Halifax , where he finished his studies. After completing his studies, Fitzgerald worked with the artists Renee Penney and Michael Weir for several years. Fitzgerald then switched to the film industry and worked as a film director. In 1997, his first film, Hanging Garden , appeared in which the actors, among others, Troy Veinotte , Chris Leavins and Kerry Fox could be seen. The film received the Genie Award . In 1998, his second film, Beefcake - Only for Men, was released about the fitness industry of the 1950 / 1960s and the first photo magazines (including Bob Mizer ) at the beginning of the American bodybuilding industry. In 2001 the Halloween horror film Wolf Girl followed for the television station USA Network . In 2003 and 2005 he made two films on the subject of HIV / AIDS, The Event and 3 Needles . Fitzgerald lives in Nova Scotia , Canada.
