Seli is a district ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . It is located in the Lasnamäe district (German "Laaksberg").

description

The city district has 13,152 inhabitants (as of May 1, 2010). It is the easternmost of the sixteen Lasnamäes districts.

The district was also called Lasnamäe V mikrorajoon or Kallaku mikrorajoon in Soviet times . It is dominated by prefabricated high-rises in the Soviet style. Like all of Lasnamäe, they were pounded out of the ground in the 1970s and 1980s. The aim was the massive settlement of Russian-speaking citizens from other parts of the Soviet Union for whom modern living space was to be created.

To the east of Seli, the green nature reserve extends around the natural course of the Pirita River ( Pirita jõgi ).
