Kloostrimetsa is a municipality ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . The district is located in the Pirita district .

Kloostrimetsa (in German "monastery forest") is one of the most sparsely populated districts of Tallinn. It has 81 inhabitants (as of May 1, 2010). Kloostrimetsa is located on the Pirita River ( Pirita jõgi ).

The name of the city district refers to the large forest area of ​​the influential Pirita Monastery (German Sankt Birgitten ). The nearby monastery of the Birgit Order was destroyed in 1577 during the Livonian War . The ruins can still be visited today.

In Kloostrimetsa are the Tallinn Botanical Gardens , the 314 m tall Tallinn TV Tower and the Metsakalmistu celebrity cemetery ("Forest Cemetery").
